The first gay version of dating game shows was Boy Meets Boy, with a format similar to The Bachelor; one part of the plot was for the gay star to recognize the straights.

After the use spreading of the Internet, the dating game felt at home in the web pages. Played for fun and entertainment or for meeting someone special, the dating games invaded in a short period of time the online dating area.
